Alaska to Brazil 2017-2018

First of all this. At the begining of this blog, when i got to know everybody, i made some remarks about certain people as a first impression. I know those people better now and most of those first negative impressions were wrong. So, please, don't be insulted if i mention anything negative has been said that could (i have never used names) apply to you. And to Kerry's mom: i was not in anyway referring to your daughter when i used the word pretentious. Please don't think that. I consider the both of us good friends! 18/7 Rose ridiculously early (5.20). Packed, breakfasted, said goodbye to Bob (Russ' brother), and on our way to the south entrance of Bryce Canyon. Did some shoping/coffees at the visitor center  (a huge one). No wifi though. Have to postpone next weeks blog update... oh well... Arrived early at the campdground. Did a 10 K hike with Bijan, Luts and Didi. And it may get boring, but take a look at this scenery.... can you believe it? Se...

11/7 Rose at 6.00. Slept like a log (soft gras). Breakfast, packed. On the way to Salt lake city for 2 nights. See u there. Arrived at 12-ish, put up the tent and spend the rest of the afternoon in the pool. Its 35 degrees up here. Pfff.... Nice camping place though. Tomorow i will check out SLC downtown.  Laterz... Had a nice mexican meal with Didi (for 12 bucks). Rest went out to a Brazilian steakhouse (and payed over 40 bucks (hihihi)). 9.45, bedtime. 12/7 Slept great again (despite the high temperatures (that may sound strange to the dutch, since we always associate Salt lake with speedskating ... well, it's a <beep>ing 36 degrees up here)). Left for SLC downtown at 8 with Bijan, Didi and Norman. Nice place to visit, that is to say if you go to the mormon temple area. Man, our mormon brothers and sisters know how to maintain their churches, conference rooms, tabernacles , auditoria and so on... Take a look... At 12 there also was an organ recita...

4/7 Rose at 6.15, breakfast (without coffee, grrr), packed and on the way to Bozeman to celebrate the 4th ofJuly. Laterz... Drove all day (panorama pic) to find a campground round 5 pm, 20 K outside Bozeman though. So guitar, a IPA , and an early night it was. Slept good. 5/7 Rose at 6.30. Ready and packed at 7.30. Shopping at Walmart and on our way to Yellowstone NP now.  See u there. 1st day in Yellowstone park. Found a nice camping spot (and an annoying park ranger who told us to remove our tents). Afternoon: climbed over a little mountain to get to the hot springs. Found a nice hotel, where we could shower (man was that good). Descended our way back to camp. Nice meal and nice conversations,  which really created a groupfeeling. Slept good. 6/7 Drove all day through the park. Its as big as half of the Netherlands,  so... we did our mileage. Stopped at 6 spots to hike and enjoy the scenery. Then, the struggle to find a camp...
