Alaska to Brazil 2017-2018

13/2 Had a bad night of sleep. Anyway a 3rd day at the beach... good that it was cloudy, but still some sunburn.... and the carnaval parties are still going on.... i think i have had enough carnaval for the rest of my life!  And ... believe it or not ... the idiots of Ziggo blocked my email account again! Their automatic safety system seems to do that, and that can not be overruled by any human apparently. The word is "utterly stupid" i  think. We will discuss that at home. Thouroughly! Im sick of being the victim of their amateurism and stupidity! Tomorrow i fly back to Holland. See how that goes... 14/2 Rose at 9.00! After another bad night of sleep! What's wrong? Worried about going home? Realy, no clue. Anyway, breakfast at the hostel, packed my stuff, the desk called a uber taxi for us and for just 30 Reals Bijan and i were brought to the airport. There we spend the day sipping coffee and waiting.... It's a very well organized airport!...

6/2 Rose at 7.30, breakfasted, met up with the upgraders. Have a coffee now, laterz... Did a big truck-clean... sipping an early beer now ... two actually ... Went to the two beaches in the afternoon. Nice, but not spectacular... Went to the viewpoint of town as well ... Back at the campsite i showered and shaved. Waiting for dinner now. Laterz... Norm made his famous stew. Good as always. Aftr dinner i went to town with Hugo. A drink, a downpour... ..., and back to the campsite for an early night. Didn't feel like partying with the group ... (hardly ever actually). Slept good, despite the constant rain. Glad my tent is under a tarpoline. 7/2 Rose late at 7.00, updating blog. Only Dario and Norm (obviously, he always raises at 5.00 or so) are awake. Laterz... Breakfasted, showered, went for a cafe con leche to town, then to the beach, where i spend the rest of the day. It rained every now and then, but the beach restaurants were ...

30/1 Woke up at 7.00, but dozed until 8.00. Had breakfast, did the media and went off to town around 10.00. Changed a little extra money (had some euro's left, but got a bad rate... oh well). Strolled around for a couple of hours... Also went to the poor neighborhoods....My God... What struck me most was a beautiful young girl (late tens, early twenties), sleeping on the pavement, blood pouring from wounds in her arms. Drug addicted probably. Nobody seemed to care. Didn't have the guts to take a picture, but the image is burned into my brain. So sad! Walked back to the hostel round 15.00. Its warm and humid.  Found a nice cafetaria where i sipped a beer. Checked the life of my fb friends up there. Now upating blog and about to publish week 34. Laterz... Went to the supermarket for a cheap meal (ran out of Paraguayan money and we cross the border tomorrow, so ...), sipped a last beer in the garden, checked fb and the news, went to bed, episode of Torch...
