Alaska to Brazil 2017-2018

22/8 Rose at 6.30, breakfasted, packed and on the road at 8.00. To Orange Walk. Did a boat trip from there, which was terrific. Great boat ride, beautiful nature, croc's, monkeys, maya temples, cold beers, and so on. Look... Back: cookgroup. Shopping, cooking, doing dishes, let the rice burn, well.. its done now. We have decided to stay here for an extra day, since its so relaxed here. So tomorrow i publish week 11. Wifi is good here. Sleep well. 23/8 Rose at 6.45, way in time to do breakfast i thought. Everybody was up already, due to the hour time difference with Mexico probably. So, setup kitchen and started. Luckily Norm and Laura came out to help, so for the next 6 days no cookgroup. Oh yeah! After breakfast, I went to town with Richard. ATM, a coffee and a stroll through the small town. Visited the museum, bought some sunscreen (im peeling like an idiot, even have a little fever) and relaxed for the rest of the day. Blogging, facebooking, extr...

15/8 Woke up at 8. Too late to serve breakfast, but Richard and Bijan had taken care of that. Thanks guys. Great hot shower, took al my dirty clothes to the laundrette and went to the market in town again. Nice coffee, nice lunch and .... a hel of a lot of rain. It kept on down pouring (and it still does). Nevertheless nice day so far... Laterz... Didn't do much for the rest of the day. Helped cookgroup a little, sipped a beer and went to bed early. Managed to keep it dry, at least in my sleeping bag. Slept reasonably well, despite the rain, that kept on pooring down untill 4 am. 16/8 Rose at 6.30, breakfasted, packed, collected laundry, and a long drive on the truck ahead now. Direction: Cancun. The scenery is so fantastic in Mexico. Green moutains as far as you can see... look... At 4 am we called it a day. Found a nice campingspot near some waterfalls, where we had a fantastic swim. 8/8 Woke up at 7.00 after a good night sleep, whitout runing to the toilet. Had a nice breakfast in the hostel, updated blog and now... gonna get me a pair of shorts!!! Laterz. Took ages before i found a pair, but i got 'em. Spend the rest of the day strolling through the city. It is realy beautiful ... have a look ... Thanks Kerry! Once more... There are demonstrations too. Lots of police men in the street... Now back in the hostel, with a beer to publish week 9 of my blog. Laterz... Went for a bar and live music back. Ran into Karim. He took me to another bar, where we met Zaine, Annette and Norm. Another beer, then i called it a day. Said goodbye to Zane. He was, more or less, the cookgroup leader. Great guy, though a bit hard to understand (for a dutchman). Think (and hope) he will be back in Ecuador or so. Stomac is still weak, though improving.
