Week 37, Brazil, the Netherlands

Had a bad night of sleep. Anyway a 3rd day at the beach... good that it was cloudy, but still some sunburn.... and the carnaval parties are still going on.... i think i have had enough carnaval for the rest of my life!

 And ... believe it or not ... the idiots of Ziggo blocked my email account again! Their automatic safety system seems to do that, and that can not be overruled by any human apparently. The word is "utterly stupid" i  think. We will discuss that at home. Thouroughly! Im sick of being the victim of their amateurism and stupidity!

Tomorrow i fly back to Holland. See how that goes...

Rose at 9.00! After another bad night of sleep! What's wrong? Worried about going home? Realy, no clue.

Anyway, breakfast at the hostel, packed my stuff, the desk called a uber taxi for us and for just 30 Reals Bijan and i were brought to the airport. There we spend the day sipping coffee and waiting.... It's a very well organized airport! We never had to wait longer than 10 minutes ... bagage drop, customs, boarding ... all went so smooth ... 

The flight was rough. Lot's of turbulence, and i was siting at the very last row... 



Anyway, we survived, and now im updating my blog at Lisboa airport. Some more waiting for the connecting flight to Amsterdam... See you there ...

The flights went all right ...




... and at 12.00 i arrived at Schiphol. The train to Meppel ... and then.... a weird feeling as usual... sure it's nice to be back, the comfort of my little house, seeing family and friends , but still after a couple of days... what am i doing here?

Anyway, 2 jobs to choose from, so... and a lot to do in my house. That will keep me occupied for the next couple of weeks.

Week 23, Peru

7/11 Rose at 6.00, packed, breakfasted and then the long drive to Lima. Fist part was a dessert like pampa ... Then the scary road along the coast ... Arrived in our (very nice) hostel at 17.30. Unpack and did a little group city walk in town. Nienke has been here before and knew the way. Centre of town is beautiful ... On the way back i ate a burger. Back at the hostel, i wifi-ed the evening away. In bed now, updating blog. Laterzzzz ... Slept like a baby.... 8/11 Slept in untill 8.00. Breakfast was included, did the media and strolled to the central plaza with Hugo and Russ ... ... to see the change of the guards... Found an ATM, robbed it, had a pizza slice and a cafe latte at starbucks (yummy). Published week 22 of my blog... Went to town again and ran into Norm and Richard, so beer it was.... we found a real bar, where we got silly .... look ... Back at the hostel, i did the media. The rest went to t...

Week 14, El Salvador, Honduras

5/9 Rose at 6.30, showered, shaved, ordered breakfast. Waiting for that now. Apparently S caused trouble again by keeping the common showers occupied for like ever ... somebody said something and there we went again.... not gonna say more about it. Not worth it. Period. Had a nice fruits and yoghurt as breakfast. Waiting for the rest of the gang now to do a 2 hour walk trip through town. Then to the top of the vulcano. The tour was fantastic, and guided by an inspiratonal young woman with a warm heart for her country. Politics, history, culture ... it was all included. Here's some pictures ... Most astonishing thing i thought was the church, build out of leftovers... broken glass, small pieces of metal. From the outside it does not look like a chuch at all .... look ... But from the inside .... Special huh? After the tour the rest went to see the vulcano. I decided to walk back to the hostel, to see some moe of the markets...

Week 30, Argentina

26/12 Rose at 8.00, grumpy coz the Oasis anti socials had kept me awake for the 2nd night in a row. If ever you decide to do an overlanding trip... don't choose for Oasis, unless you like to be drunk, obnoxious and anti social when you see the world. You are being ripped off wrt prices too btw. Ok, new day! Breakfasted , packed my stuff, got money from the ATM (yay!) and at 10.00 we were on our way to El Bolson. Arrived here at 14.00, unpacked the truck and setup kitchen, setup tent. Waiting now for Richard (who is washing some cloths) to explore this little town. We will be here for 2 nights. Laterz... Environment is nice, look ... Having a beer on a terrace with Richard now ... Dinner was nice, played a little guitar, sipped a bit of wine, tried an episode of Torchwood, but was too tired to complete it, so... slept for 10 (!) hours. 27/12 Rose at 8.00, breakfasted, did the media, washed my clothes, shopped for the two upcoming days (long drives through the...
