Week 33, Argentina, Uruguay
16/1
Rose at 8.30, made 2 sandwiches. Now (trying to) publish week 32. Wifi is not that stable here ... Laterz.
Walked around town ...
... visited the famous cemetery (where Eva Perron) is buried ...
Came back around 18.00. Salad and an IPA at a local bar. Last glas of wine at the hostels roof terrace and a good night of sleep.

Woke up at 7.00, did the media and rose around 8.30. Shower, shave, breakfast.
Then a long, long walk to the beach area (through an old part of town) and a long, long walk back through the parcs. All in all a 20 K walk. My feet hurt (walked on flipflops).
The IPA in the same bar as yesterday was delicious though.
Upadating blog now in the hostels patio. Tomorrow we leave BA again. Could live here. Great city!
Slept bad. Don't know why.
18/1
Rose at 6.00, showered, packed. Waiting for the truck to go to Uruguay now. See u there...
The border crossing went smooth (except the fact that our fruits and vegetables were confiscated). The money exchange guy tried to rip us of by offering 35% too less (some of us bought it though). Stopped in a little town to find an ATM and do some shopping.
First impression of the Uruguayans is: very friendly, very polite and very helpful. Nice people.
Last 60 K took more than an hour due to bad road conditions. Rural environment is nice though. Forgot to take pictures... sorry.
Arrived at our campsite (near the town of Colonia) round 18.30, put up my new tent (=Margaritta's old tent), gave away my warm sleeping bag, had dinner and a Corona.
Updating blog now... get an early night of sleep, since i slept bad last night. Laterzzz...
19/1
Rose at 7.30. Breakfasted, showered, washed my cloths, rearranged my luguage (it will be warm till Rio i guess) and prepared lunch (or so i thought).
Round 10.30 i left for town. First to the harbour area, for a cafe con leche, than a long walk along the beaches (where i found out that i had left my sandwiches on the truck and had packed the remaining dry bread ... grrr) and back...
After that i visited the old cultural part of Colonia. It is indeed a colonial styled old city...
Had a beer and a sandwich in the yacht harbour. Again i was struck by the friendlyness of the Uruguayan people...
Round 17.00 i walked back, packed my dried clothes. Now a cheap glass of (excellent) wine. Laterz...
Spend the rest of the evening chatting over dinner. Episode of Torchwood completed the day. Slept good.
20/1
Rode at 7.40. Packed (new tent, so it took a while), breakfasted, packed the truck and off we went on the way to Montevideo. Or better: to a campsite 30 K outside of MV. To save money. It's more than an hour drive to town by bus. Not so happy with that!
Ok, after 15 mins we stopped for shopping. Waiting to leave again now ... laterz ...
Short drive to the campsite. Arrived there at 12.30 or so. 10 people left by bus immediately to get their own accommodation in MV.
We setup camp and then Jono decided that he would drop us off to tomorrow in town. Hurray! That makes up for it. (The others wil be pissed off i guess.)
We went to the camp restaurant for a beer. The rest stayed there. I went for the beach, but it's crappy. Lots of stones, so it's hard to get into the water. Oh well... waiting for dinner now... laterz...
Dinner was nice, but i really wasn't in a talkative mood. So... a last beer (or two? ... i don't remember) and went to my tent at ... don't remember either .... well, i slept well, not like an idiot though...
21/1
Rose at 7.30 or so... breakfast, packed my daypack for 1 day of exploring MV. Jono brouhht us to town, where we arrived round 9.45 or so.
First walk down the main there street towards the harbour...
Then found a "cafe con leche" place with wifi, so read the news (Ajax - Feyenoord today and it was shown on tv in the restaurant), read the adventures of my fb friends, short chat with Mariya.
Then walked back the main street to find the biggest flee market i ever saw. They sell everything there... literally! Spend hours there ...
Ended up on a terrace at the main street again. Had a very expensive beer and went back to the truck (where we were to be picked up at 5 pm).
Back at the campsite, we found out that we had forgotten Hugo... hope he finds his way back to the campsite... (turned out he had spend the whole evening with his Uruguayan cousin, so no worries necessary).
Dinner was very nice (fish from the BBQ). Almost 8 pm now. Last drink and... an episode of Torchwood i think. See you!
Slept good.
22/1
Rose at 7.20, packed, showered, breakfasted, packed the truck and off we are to Puente del Este. Beachtime baby! Yeah! Laterz...
Drive went smooth. Stopped for shoppings and gas. Arrived at the campsite around 14.00. It's quite a good site, good facilities that is.
After unpacking i checked the beach... yeah baby, i know where i will be tomorrow.
Returned to the campsite at 17.00. A beer, wifi, good spaghetti (thx Dario and Hugo), update blog. Laterz...
PS: just 18 days before the trip ends. Hard to believe.
Chatted the evening away and completed the day with an episode of Torchwood. Slept good.
See you all next week.
