Week 34, Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay
23/1
Rose at 7.30, showered, breakfasted.
Trying to publish week 33 now. Unstable wifi, so... let's see...
Did the media (wifi turned out to be pretty good ) ... Laterz...
Went to the beach at 11.00. Spend there all day.
Long walks, swimming in huge waves, getting very sunburned (look like a tomato)...
Showered, had a nice bami for dinner, then ... thunder and rain (well, a little). Last beer now on the terrace of our campsite ... laterz ...
An episode of Torchwood completed the day. Slept well.
24/1
Rose at 4.45, packed, breakfasted, packed the truck and on the way to Salto (there is one in Uruguay too). Nice drive, not very special. Small lunch on the road.
I am getting a bit travel tired. Probably because we only have a couple of weeks to go. Easily irritated, tired early in the evening, not very well concentrated, missing the friends at home and of course Mariya ... must be for being on the road for almost 8 months now. No worries, i'll handle.
And then ... there were hot pools. Lots of thermic activity in the earth up here, so... took a dip in one of the pools and i totally relaxed. Man, was that good! Ready for another 8 months of traveling... ok, one beer now, an episode of Torchwood and i guess a beautifull night of sleep. Till tomorrow.

Rose at 5.00. Packed, breakfasted, packed the truck and on the way back to Argentina. The wetlands of Esteros de Ibera to be precise, so goodbye Uruguay. Border crossing went smooth.
First part: good roads, so some considerable mileage was done. Had little lunch in a small town, visited the shrine to Goucho Gill (the south american version of Robin Hood, google it) ...
... and then the last 70 K's of dirt road to this campsite. It took like forever, but... some nice wildlife along the road....
Arrived here at 19.00. Unpacked, setup kitchen and tents, enjoyed the fantastic sunset (alone! ... the rest just took a picture...), had a nice beef stew for dinner, a glass of cold rose and a nice night of sleep.
26/1
Rose at 7.30, breakfasted, and packed for a nice boat trip with Dario, Lauretta, Russ, Bijan and Sharron. Wildlife, and a lot of it. Look ...
Then a walking tour.... not as spectacular as the boat trip, but still ...
The guide drove us to a restaurant, i went to the central place in town (a grass field), for some free wifi.
Walked back to the truck. Now sitting in the shade, updating blog. Laterz...
Spend the afternoon chatting, dozing off, washed some shirts, showered. Now waiting for dinner...
After dinner, looked at the sunset ...
Slept like a baby, except that ... middle of the night a run to the toilet: diarrhea again .... grrrr.
27/1
Rose at 3.30 (!!), packed, breakfasted, packed the truck and off to Trinidad in Paraguay. First 140 KM of dirt road. That took forever. A 12.00 we hit tarmac. What a relief. Quick lunch at a petrol station (diarrhea had gone!). No money left, so i ate my selfmade lunch there.
Crossed the border without any problems. Didn't even have to take out our luguage. Changed just $ 30,- and crossed the bridge into Panama...
At 20.00 am (after a 15 hours drive!) we arrived in this park-like campsite. It has two nice big pools, a restaurant, so... looking forward to a nice day at the pool, downing a couple of beers (or so i thought).
Dinner was ok, and at 11.00 i went to my tent, put up inside a building, to avoid the rain. Slept like an idiot again.
28/1
Rose at 7.30. It rained!!! Bloody hell! So much for a day at the pool ... grrr...
Well, will try the wifi and the coffee at the restaurant! Laterz...
Did the media in the restaurant over a cafe con leche. It stopped raining, so... lets see how this turns out! Laterz...
Pool costs 25.000, so no way. Then, all of a sudden, i could go in for free... just for 10 mins to do a lap or 6. Oh well...
Rest of the day at the campsite ... reading, gaming, etc.
Dinner (Norms famous corned beef receipt). Russ broke a pole of my tent, grrr... but made it up with a beer and a game of pool billiard. Called it a day at 10.30. Could not fall asleep though ... too much on my mind i guess ...
29/1
Rose at 6.40. Packed, breakfasted, packed the truck and off we were to the capital of Paraguay, Asuncion. Paraguay is poor ... as you can see...
Good drive and we arrived round 17.00. ....
Nice hostel up here. Good wifi as well, so publishing week 34 tomorrow shouldn't be a problem. Going to town to get some food now... laterz...
Well, it turned out to be some cheap supermarket food, but.. it tasted all right.
Sipped a last beer in the garden of the hostel, while enjoying a good wifi connection. Went to bed at 11.00. Slept like an idiot again.
See you all next week!
